Accommodations are supports and services provided to help a student access the general education curriculum and validly demonstrate learning. The LRC Director follows these steps to create a CAP to meet the needs of your student:
Recommendations from neuro-psychological evaluation are reviewed
Teacher input is gathered concerning student’s needs in the classroom
Accommodations are made based on the child’s unique individual need to access grade level curriculum, rather than disability.
A CAP meeting is held annually to discuss the student’s strengths, challenges, and recommended accommodations.
All the student’s teachers receive the CAP to implement.
Accommodations will be monitored throughout the school year. Data will be collected to add or remove any accommodations.
The CAP is effective for one year. Evidence backed changes may be implemented throughout the year as the need arises.
