What is a psycho / diagnostic evaluation?
A psycho / diagnostic evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of your student’s learning differences. It includes a diagnostic interview, an assessment of aptitude and academic achievement, a history of their previous accommodations, an assessment of how your student processes information and a diagnosis. This evaluation should verify your student’s need for accommodations based on his or her current level of functioning.
Who conducts the psychoeducational evaluation?
Many of our families use private testing sources. We accept both private testing reports and those completed through a public school. All reports must be current – no older than three years. A list of testing sources is provided to parents upon request.

Yes, all students in good academic standing are encouraged to participate in the whole STCS experience, including fine arts, athletics, campus ministry and clubs.
How do students feel about participating in the Learning Resource Center?
All students learn in different ways and there is no “wrong” way to learn. Pride of ownership of one’s own learning is taught and practiced daily at St. Theresa. We respect all individuals. Each student can learn, and each can make a positive difference.
Are there any circumstances in which the recommended accommodations are not automatically provided?
Recommendations from the psycho / diagnostic evaluation are considered, however, there must be evidence that the accommodation is currently needed in the classroom. If the student is successfully accessing grade level curriculum, completing assignments and tests in the allotted time (including standardized tests), then the accommodation is not needed. If there is a change or decrease in student progress during the school year, the accommodation can then be provided.
